My client, an insurance company, offers structural and buildings warranties / guaranties to properties in the UK and Europe and they have underwritten over ?50 billion of properties in the UK and Europe.
The company employs over 300 people. They have a network of building surveyors who are responsible for risk managing and inspecting construction sites so that their clients can gain buildings insurance for their properties. They are looking for a highly experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to manage their major projects department and a team of buildings inspectors of High Rise Buildings 7 floors and above and other complex and high profile building constructions.

Job description:
To support the HVS Director in ensuring large high rise and/or complex projects, including HVS projects are effectively and efficiently risk managed, ensuring adequate resource and planning are in place.
To provide support and engage in the commercial development of their territory.
To monitor the overall technical risk management for HVS developments, site specific KPI’s and technical issues.
Interact with internal resource and external consultants about audits.
Support and develop a designated team of Major Projects Surveyors, including mentoring and arranging training as required.
Undertake site inspections to support Major Projects Surveyors to ensure agreed risk management is being applied during construction.
Advise and assist the Head of Building Control on the application of Building Regulations on HVS, high rise and other complex schemes.
Monitor service levels to, with priority given to high risk projects.
Contribute to Knowledge Management Articles, newsletters & technical articles.
Attendance at technical meetings, sales and management meetings.
Interview, with the head of surveying, applicants for surveying roles as necessary.
Ongoing liaison with surveyors on technical matters.
Ongoing liaison with developers/clients – offer technical advice and guidance.
Provide advice to the Marketing and Underwriting Departments
Requirements:
Qualified Surveyor / Structural Engineer / Civil Engineer (equivalent in Poland – Inżynier budownictwa, Uprawniony inżynier specjalizujący się w wytrzymałości konstrukcji, inżynier konstruktor, Inspektor Nadzoru Budowlanego or similar).
7 years + senior site management and inspection experience of high rise, high profile and complex builds.
In depth technical knowledge of Building Regulations, Technical Standards and other relevant construction standards including EU Standards/Codes of Practice
Technical and / or warranty experience in high rise construction techniques.
Requires basic understanding of general insurance principals and terminology
desirable.
Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the
cause/effect of building defects.
Management skills in coordinating internal and external resource in apply our
risk management process.
Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to create not only good working relationships with other construction
professionals.
The ability to meet deadlines and manage own workload within agreed
parameters.
In depth working knowledge of MS Outlook (email), MS Word, MS Excel and
ability to use company intranet system (including all bespoke packages).
Ability to motivate self and influence others.
Experience of Relationship Management.
Excellent Communications skills in English.
Flexible in personal approach

Highly competitive salary for a senior manager circa ?50 – ?70,000 GBP annual & bonus
Plus a London allowance of ?4,000 if necessary.
