Saudi Arabia Bechtel Co. is currently searching for specialists to work on the Jubail Industrial City project in Saudi Arabia. Jubail II will add a second industrial area to house up to 22 new primary industries. The project calls for the expansion of King Fahd Industrial Port, pipeline refurbishment, increasing capacity of the cooling system, and new desalination plants.
Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
SSA/08/SEE Accountability:
* Review of Design Consultants and main contractors design and drawing packages for major projects for voltages of 115kV and below and the direction of a small team of Electrical and Instrument Engineers to do the same;
* Preparing innovative design for the continuing expansion of the 13.8kV electrical distribution system;
* Coordinate transmission and distribution of (SEC) specifications, standards and practices and comments into project design documents;
* Supply Design Consultants with information for all design issues including fault and load flow studies and interfaces;
* Provide support to Construction Department and disposition of field changes;
* Review construction shop drawings and material submittals;
* Prepare electrical design calculations, load flow calculations, cable ampacity and voltage drop calculations;
* Use computer codes to perform analysis and design of electrical system and computation of power demand;
* Support Investment Promotion Department by reviewing designs submitted by the industries;
* Continuously updating the status of power supply availability to the residential and industrial communities and provide solutions and alternatives to power supply routing and systems satisfying SEC’s standards.
Key Technical Skills:
* Chartered / Professional Engineer;
* Extensive experience in the design of electrical power systems, particularly at 115kV, and its associated practices;
* Conversant with the practices and procedures of a National Electrical Transmission Authority;
* Knowledge of codes and standards of IEEE or equivalent;
* Experience in field of construction;
* Sufficient knowledge in computer codes for electrical design, including ETAP and other power system studies.
