Saudi Arabia Bechtel Co. is currently searching for specialists to work on the Jubail Industrial City project in Saudi Arabia. Jubail II will add a second industrial area to house up to 22 new primary industries. The project calls for the expansion of King Fahd Industrial Port, pipeline refurbishment, increasing capacity of the cooling system, and new desalination plants.
Field Mechanical Engineer
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
SSA/08/FME Accountability:
* Monitor contractor Quality Control Program. This includes site inspection for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals and mechanical codes;
* Maintain project safety awareness and enforce company safety policy;
* Facilitate coordination of contractor’s work with third parties, i.e., SEC, MARAFIQ or other public agencies;
* Review and respond to contractors technical queries and coordinate with Engineering Department on technical issues;
* Supervise quantity take-offs. Review contractor’s monthly invoices. Review O&M manuals;
* Monitor as-builts;
* Prepare daily reports on each contract;
* Evaluate construction material testing results;
* Provide technical support to the preparation of Field Change Requests and Change Orders;
* Participate in construction progress meetings;
* Participate in final inspection and prepare punch lists;
* Review engineering design packages for constructability issues and lessons learned.
Key Technical Skills:
* College/University Degree Mechanical Engineering with construction experience;
* Field Management utilities infrastructure experience in installation, testing & commissioning of rotating equipment and auxiliary systems, in particular: pumps and pipe work, chemical/chlorination system, tank fabrication, water line and installation of mechanical & electrical equipment for pump stations;
* Experience in steel welding and knowledge of welding testing procedure;
* Must be familiar with Bechtel or similar codes & safety procedures for start-up & commissioning;
* Basic working knowledge or Microsoft Word and Excel.
