Saudi Arabia Bechtel Co. is currently searching for specialists to work on the Jubail Industrial City project in Saudi Arabia. Jubail II will add a second industrial area to house up to 22 new primary industries. The project calls for the expansion of King Fahd Industrial Port, pipeline refurbishment, increasing capacity of the cooling system, and new desalination plants.
Chief Structural Engineer
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
SSA/08/CSE Accountability:
* Chief Structural Engineer functionally responsible for all Structural Engineers overall project areas;
* Lead the review of structural design packages prepared by the A/E?s;
* Coordinate all Value Engineering efforts;
* Coordinate and return review comments on submittals by the Industries for proposed new plants or plant expansion designs as it relates to interface with Royal Commission roads and utilities;
* Prepare structural design calculations and drawings for buildings modifications and additions to concrete and steel structures;
* Utilize computer and computer codes to perform analyses and designs of structures;
* Provide support to Construction Department and disposition of field changes by issuing DCNs and SCNs;
* Review of shop drawings and material submittals;
* Review, update & prepare revisions to structural Guideline Specs, Manuals & Design Criteria;
* Perform general engineering tasks such as preparation of studies, reports and bid packages;
* Review and coordinate with others for engineering packages related to schools, clinics, etc;
* Develop and train Saudi Structural Engineers;
* Provide technical guidance to all Structural Engineers on the project;
* Ensure consistency and uniformity of structural reviews for A/E packages across the project areas.
Key Technical Skills:
* College Graduate with B.S. in Structural Engineering; M.S. in Structural Engineering would be an advantage;
* Experience in the analysis and design of concrete and steel structures and coordination of multi-discipline designs;
* Experience in field construction and/or operation of industrial plants / commercial buildings;
* Good knowledge of computers for analyses and design of structures;
* Knowledge of building / bridge design and familiar with AASHTO & ACI.
